Sofia’s at Morgenster
Craig Cormack, is the Chef at Sofia’s at Morgenster. The restaurant was named by Giulio Bertrand, the owner of Morgenster Estate, after Sofia Loren and features celebrated photographs of the young Sofia.
The 40-seater restaurant is situated on the edge of a meadow, with a vine-covered stoep and views of Morgenster’s vineyards, olive groves and cellar. In keeping with its rural charm, Craig’s menus, which change weekly, mix the old and new. Classic dishes are given a modern twist with new flavours and tastes and use the freshest produce available, including lemons, green figs, loquats, herbs and salads from Morgenster. Of course olives, olive oil and wines from the Estate are served too. A three course meal costs in the region of R220.

Rust En Vrede
The original cellar, a National Monument, has been converted and the kitchen is placed "front and centre", thus creating an ambiance that is relaxed but vibey. There is a proprietor/winemaker table in a private area between the cellars which can accommodate a maximum of 8 people. Pride is taken in the fact that time was taken with well known potter, David Walters, to create the crockery, handcrafted Riedel stemware was selected and Laguiole knives purchased, to give you an experience you won’t soon forget. www.rustenvrede.com
